March 23, 2012 – Washington, DC – For many high school girls, senior prom is a day they will never forget: shopping for a dress, having fun with their friends, and concluding their high school careers with a magical night. While this is the case for some, others miss out on this special occasion because they are not able to afford the luxury of attending.
This year, Polished For Prom is partnering with College is Cool to help seniors enjoy the prom of a lifetime through their 2012 prom sponsorships. College is Cool, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded by Angie Ange of DC’s 93.9 WKYS, which focuses on motivating and equipping high school students with the necessary skills and information needed to apply to and be successful in college.
Through this year’s partnership, College Is Cool will sponsor a DC Polished For Prom winner and promote the organization through various on-air and social media platforms.
Through an application and interview process, winners are chosen to receive complete sponsorship opportunities, which include: hair, make-up, gown, shoes, accessories, transportation, and photo packages.
Students who wish to apply should complete the application available at www.polishedforprom.org. The deadline is April 9, 2012.
Winners in Baltimore, DC, and Philadelphia will be announced on April 13, 2012, and preparation for the big day will begin immediately after.
